Goat Grand Prix Buenos Aires 2026: Top 8 Deck Lists

What is up, Goat World! On March 15th, 2026, the Goat Format Grand Prix circuit returned to South America in spectacular fashion as we made our way back to beautiful Buenos Aires, Argentina for its second-ever GGP. After an unforgettable first visit, expectations were sky-high, and once again, the Argentine community delivered in a massive way.

This wasn’t just another stop on the circuit; it was part of a jam-packed weekend that showcased Latin America’s passion for Goat Format, standing as one of three GGPs hosted across the region. The energy, pride, and incredible turnout sent a message felt across the global scene, Latin America has firmly established itself as a major pillar of Goat Format. To top it all off, GGP Buenos Aires 2026 set the record for the largest Goat Format event ever held in the Western Hemisphere with 134 players which gave out 4 invites, cementing its place as a historic milestone for both the game and its community.​A huge thank you goes out to the team at Goat Format Argentina (https://www.youtube.com/@GoatArgentina/) for their tireless work in bringing this event to life. First up, we have Fernando Luna, who claims the title of Champion of GGP Buenos Aires! Battling through a field of 134 other duelists, Gernando emerged victorious while piloting the ever-popular Chaos Turbo strategy.While a few of his card choices may raise some eyebrows, the list stays true to the proven core that makes Chaos Turbo such a dominant force. His unique touches add a layer of individuality that we tend to see at these in-person circuit series events. This victory is nothing short of a remarkable accomplishment. Navigating a field of this size, especially at a historic event of this caliber requires consistency, stamina, and composure across a long and demanding tournament. Fernando demonstrated all of that and more, solidifying his place at the top of Argentina.With this win, he also secures his coveted invite to the Goat Format World Championship, earning the opportunity to compete on the biggest stage the format has to offer. It’s a well-deserved achievement and a defining moment in his competitive journey. Congratulations!

Taking 2nd place, Airel Cho gets it done with the Earth Aggro strategy. At first glance, the list looks fairly standard, but with the inclusion of a double cheeked up “Granny Clap” main deck 40 is something to be marveled at, the Granny Clapper enthusiasts will be ecstatic to see this version of the deck take home an incredible finish. Jokes aside, the inclusion of Granmarg isn’t just for flair, this card plays a key role in the deck’s ability to take advantage of its special summoned Gigantes and to apply consistent pressure.​Speaking of pressure, Earth Aggro is one of those decks that can very quickly snowball itself into a favorable position. When heavy hitters like Goblin Attack Force are able to connect for massive 2300 damage swings, the momentum can shift almost instantly, putting the opponent on the back foot. From there, the deck excels at keeping the pressure on and it routinely forces opponents into uncomfortable positions. Huge congratulations on your incredible finish and your invite to the Goat Format World Championship!

Since four invites were awarded at this event, a 3rd and 4th place playoff was not necessary. With that, and in no particular order, Nicolonio Stefano secured a Top 4 finish along with his Worlds Invite while piloting Panda Burn.Nicolonio’s build includes several personal tech choices aimed at helping him navigate a diverse field and those choices clearly paid off. In his main deck of 40, he runs double Big Shield Gardna alongside the “Jim Carrey’s” Mask of Darkness, this of course is to maximize the value of his Trap lineup. These inclusions are especially impactful in grind-heavy matchups, where recurring trap access and defensive stability can provide just enough advantage to close out games.​While we typically don’t spend much time on side decks in these recaps, one card worth highlighting is a personal favorite that often gets overlooked in favor of the more iconic Trap Master. Of course, that card is Crimson Ninja. Sharing the same effect, it carries a unique charm of its own, and it’s a card that deserves a bit of appreciation here. Now that I got that out of the way, lets also discuss the lack there of Giant Trunade’s from the main 40 (He does side 2), this is an interesting decision as Traunde is one of those cards that can guarantee you huge piercing attacks landing with Gyaku Gire Panda, I wonder of his decision to side them. Whatever the reason maybe, it worked out for him and secured him his Worlds Invite, Congratulations!

Now, for our other Top 4 finisher and the final Worlds Invite earner, we have Frederico Daniel Laborde piloting a Warrior strategy. His list stays fairly standard, but he tackles the classic Warrior dilemma: “What should my 14th monster be?” In this case, that slot is filled by Asura Priest (and as a side note, isn’t that one of the coolest artworks in Goat Format?). The choice likely helps clear away Scapegoat tokens or punish opponents in the Chaos Turbo matchup for having attack-mode Gravekeeper’s Spy’s.By leaning on Asura Priest to push through boards and maintain tempo, Frederico was able to convert key attacks throughout the event, ultimately securing his Top 4 finish and earning his invitation to the Goat Format World Championships. Congratulations to him on the accomplishment.​

Now let's dive into the Top 8 territory, first up we have Facundo Maidena playing Goat Control.  We saw a lot of success over the weekend across the board in the LATAM countries playing this deck, could this be the resurgence this deck needed? It has had quite the year in the In-person and Online space so far it does not seem to be slowing down. Facundo’s version here is a bit more of a classic take on it featuring historically favorite cards like Airknight Parsath and Jinzo. He even manages to go a little new age with the list and sneak in a small but mighty warrior toolbox that gives some utility for spot removal. Love to see another Goat Control player find success, in a format as old as Goat is, it sure is nice to see some players reject the modern meta and take root in the past ideas this format was built on. Huge congratulations on your success and top 8 finish.​

Next among our Top 8 finishers is Jonathan Desideri, piloting his own unique take on Chaos Control. Chaos Control is one of those archetypes that has largely drifted out of the spotlight—outside of dedicated pilots like the legendary GeistD, so it’s refreshing to see Jonathan step in and add his own mark to the strategy, contributing to its recent resurgence.In this event, Jonathan opted to incorporate a Tsukuyomi loop package, going as far as doubling up on Tsukuyomi while pairing it with Mask of Darkness. This setup allows him to repeatedly recycle key trap cards such as Solemn Judgment and Time Seal, effectively locking opponents out of meaningful progression.While assembling the loop can be challenging, once it’s established it becomes extremely difficult to break. For opponents, facing this kind of recursive control can feel suffocating. No doubt, several of Jonathan’s opponents found themselves on the receiving end of this soft lock, and for that performance, he deserves recognition for navigating the field successfully and securing his Top 8 finish.

Another duelist who etched his name amongst the Top 8 field was Elio Ramirez who also made the top cut with Chaos Control. Now this list is a little more Chaos Turbo than it is Chaos Control, as it features cards like Night Assailant and Card Destruction, but it still managed to find a way to run the Scapegoat and Metamorphosis package. This is an interesting list as it even goes above the standard 40 card main to fit in a 2nd copy of Book of Moon and elects to only run one Chaos Sorcerer. The deck-building process here comes together as a true mishmash of ideas that clearly worked in Elio’s favor throughout the event. By blending key elements from the strongest aspects of CT & CC deck styles into a single cohesive build, Elio was able to pilot his way through a competitive field and secure a spot in the Top Cut of a 134-player event over 8 rounds, no small feat by any measure.A huge congratulations to Elio on this accomplishment, and we look forward to seeing more from him in future events.

Last but not least for our Top 8 players from GGP Buenos Aires 2026 is Mathias Meli who brings us home with Chaos Turbo. At face value the core of Chaos Turbo is there, with select key personal choices most likely sided as “pre” to gain a competitive edge against an expected large Chaos Turbo turnout for the event. Main deck Mind Control and Kycoo the Ghost Destroyers are common for this strategy as they allow great value in stealing flip effects and removing important chaos food from play. His bold decision making on the deck building front clearly paid off as he managed to fight his way into the top cut for this event. Huge congratulations to him and his success.
