Manticore Aggro

Overview

Manticore Aggro decks play many of the same cards as Beastdown. The core difference, though, is the inclusion of Manticore of Darkness and, usually, Card of Safe Return (CoSR). Manticore acts as discard fodder for the deck, special summoning itself at the end of the turn. It can also be revived after being lost to a battle trap or in combat itself. With CoSR in play, each revive grants additional card draw to the Manticore player, too. 

Enraged Battle Ox is almost always played in Manticore Aggro thanks to its piercing-granting effect, which benefits not just pure beast monsters, but also beast-warriors and winged beasts as well. Manticore also interacts with these monster types, which is another difference between this deck and Beastdown. With these synergies, cards like Birdface, ​Cyber Harpie Lady, Harpie Lady 2, Sacred Crane, ​Garuda the Wind Spirit and more are all potential beaters that are almost never (if ever) seen in Beastdown. 

Deck List

Birdface is an aggressive floater that brings more beats should it fall in battle. Harpie Lady 2 is a silver bullet search target for Birdface that answers opposing flip monsters. As with most of the other monsters in the deck, these winged beasts all benefit from Enraged Battle Ox and can fuel Manticore summons. 

Card of Safe Return draws extra cards for the player, and fuels discard effects like Tribe and Raigeki Break. Of course, Manticore himself and sinister Serpent also work.

Additional Card Options

Anything played in Beastdown is viable in Manticore aggro as well. Some players will include a full Giant Rat or Mother Grizzly package together, or alongside Birdface, in order to maximize the floaters in the deck. This also makes Creature Swap much more playable.
