Overview

60806437 orig

Fire Aggro brings the heat with Fire-attribute monsters. UFO turtle is the primary recruiter, searching for pyro all-stars like Solar Flare Dragon and Ultimate Baseball Kid. Masked Dragon is also available, allowing for a full six slots to be devoted to floaters. This makes filling the graveyard incredibly easy, which is perfect for Spirit of Flames. Inferno also makes an appearance from time to time, but his sub-par ATK stat and the fact that his effect does not trigger on tokens makes him much less desirable. The high number of recruiters also means Creature Swap is a common sight.

Fire Aggro has a natural ability to dish out burn damage, too. Solar Flare Dragon deals an extra 500 at the end of each turn, and Baseball Kid can close out a game with tributes after a big attack. Molten Destruction increases the potential to dish out damage and allows the Fire players to use the ATK stat as a wall, keeping Dragon alive to burn for longer.

Deck List

All six recruiter slots are utilized, meaning Spirit of the Flames will rarely sit in hand for long. Element Dragon is one of the few non-Fire monsters in the list, but it acts as an end target for Masked Dragon chains, and commonly reaches its 2000 ATK potential. The list does have some trouble with Scapegoat, but Gaia should help get damage past the tokens. It can be tributed to Kid at the end of the turn, since it would die anyway, and acts as more fuel for Spirit.

Because of the aggro plan, multiple backrow cards are dedicated to taking monsters away from the opponent. Trap Dustshoot is particularly useful against Tsukuyomi, which is a major issue thanks to the abysmal DEF stat of most fire monsters. This issue is only made worse with Molten Destruction, but the boost in damage is well worth it.

Variants

Fire Return

Fire Returns makes use of the multiple banish methods that fire monsters have, and combos them with Return from the Different Dimension. Typically, the banishers of choice are Spirit of Flames and Infernal Flame Emperor. These variants tend to brick more, but are also more explosive, with the potential to OTK after a decent set up.

Flame Ruler is found with UFO Turtle, and helps summon Emperor. Recruiters and Twin Head can also be used as easy tributes, often in conjunction with Brain Control.

Additional Card Options

Flame Ruler is sometimes used with lager Fire monsters, like Infernal Flame Emperor, Tyrant Dragon, or even Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys.  These lists are flashy, but not as consistent as those that opt for less star count.

Skill Drain works well with the high number of recruiters Fire Aggro typically plays, as well as Gaia. Some people choose to go all in with the strategy, combining Drain with The Thing in the Crater for easy Thestalos or Twin-Headed Fire Dragon summons. UFO Turtle searching out The Thing makes this more consistent. It can even be played with Share the Pain for added benefit.
