What is Library FTK?

Library FTK is a Yu-Gi-Oh! Goat Format deck that draws its entire deck in a single turn using one of its 3 copies of Royal Magical Library. It does this by repeatedly activating continuous spells with (3 copies of) Giant Trunade. These continuous spells include but are not limited to 3 Convulsion of Nature and 3 Archfiend’s Oath, which combine to pay lifepoints and draw free cards. Giant Trunade is the deck's key combo piece, which it activates over and over again with Spell Reproduction and A Feather of the Phoenix. The deck is also often known as "Tundo FTK", named after the deck's creator, Vincent Tundo.

How Does Library FTK Work?

The deck usually wins during any turn that a Royal Magical Library hits the field and does not have its effect interrupted by a card like Book of Moon, Ring of Destruction, etc. Giant Trunade is Library FTK’s other key combo piece, which can both clear the backrow before Royal Magical Library is summoned, or return continuous spells to add spell counters to Royal Magical Library. Spell Reproduction is played in order to repeatedly activate copies of Giant Trunade. By using Giant Trunade to return Convulsion of Nature and Archfiend’s Oath, drawing through the entire deck in a single turn is quite easy. The best win condition to use is Reversal Quiz + Black Pendant, due to the fact that these two combo pieces are spells that can be discarded to Spell Reproduction or add spell counters to Royal Magical Library. However, other win conditions like 3 Blasting the Ruins, Non-Aggression Area + Last Turn, or Exodia are also possible.

Why Library FTK is Viable

Because of its high FTK rate (about 50%), the deck is less susceptible to sidedeck cards than similar combo decks in the format like Empty Jar. Because it kills so quickly, it performs very well in combo vs combo matchups, which are more common than they used to be. Like other FTK decks in Yu-Gi-Oh!’s history, Library FTK has few obvious weaknesses short of “losing to itself.” Library FTK is sparsely played not to due to a lack of viability but moreso due to the community’s negative stigma of FTK decks.
