Goat Format Hall of Fame 2022: Kazuki Takahashi
Goatformat.com inducts creator Kazuki Takahashi into their Hall of Fame for 2022, honoring his immense impact on the Yu-Gi-Oh! community.
With the 2022 Goat Format season coming to a close, Goatformat.com would like to honor the man who made it all possible.
The unfortunate passing of Yu-Gi-Oh! creator Kazuki Takahashi earlier this year has been an enormous blow to the community at large. It goes without saying that nothing we do here at Goatformat.com would be possible without the world and game that he created. Yu-Gi-Oh! has been a core part of the lives of many of us, and while the game has changed much over the years, the memories, magic, and emotions will stay with us forever. Born in Tokyo in 1961, Takahashi published his first Manga (Ing! Love Ball) in 1981. Other stories of his were published throughout the years with respectable success. However, It wasn't until 1996 that the world would first be introduced to Yu-Gi-Oh!, which was published in Shonen Jump Magazine and spawned what the Guinness World Records says is the best-selling trading card game ever.
In the wake of his passing, many have paid tribute to the artist and creator, including Shonen Jump creators and staff, Kenjiro Tsuda (original voice actor for Seto Kaiba), Konami, and more. We felt it was only appropriate to honor him in our way as well. So, we are naming Kazuki Takahashi the second member of the GoatFormat.com Hall of Fame. Kazuki Takahashi, we as a community and as fans can't thank you enough for the positive impact you've had on our lives. May you rest in peace.
